Organizers of the Professional Women in Advocacy Conference announced this week the theme for the 2015 conference is “The Modern Advocate.” The conference will focus on the use of technology to help advocates be more effective and efficient at their job regardless of budget.
“Technology is the great equalizer when it comes to advocacy campaigns. Organizations no longer require fancy PR firms, expensive software and legions of staff. Most campaigns can now be launched with a press of a button,” said conference Co-Founder LeeAnn Petersen.
This year’s agenda will be filled with sessions that offer techy tips and techniques for advocates. Some examples include:
- A Day in the Life of a Nerdy Advocacy Professional
Speaker: Beth Ziesenis, Author of Release Your Inner Nerd (confirmed)
- Digital 101 – Building Your Digital Advocacy Campaign from Scratch
Speaker: Sherry Stanley Whitworth, Voter Voice
- How DO They Do That: Secret Tech Weapons for Advocacy Professionals
Speaker: Beth Z, Your Nerdy Best Friend
- Relationship Building in an E-Culture
- Pitching Press with Social Media
