The 2014 Professional Women in Advocacy Conference features streamlined sessions, dedicated tracks for industry professionals, and lower room rates for out-of-town participants.
Washington, DC – April 9, 2014 In three weeks, registration will open for the second annual Professional Women in Advocacy Conference taking place November 20-21, 2014 in Washington, D.C. Women from all over the country, working in government relations, public affairs, political engagement and community activism, will come together once again for educational seminars and networking opportunities. This year’s conference has four tracks: federal government relations, state government relations, advocacy and outreach, and public affairs and communications. Speakers will include book authors, government officials, industry experts, and leadership gurus. For a limited time, organizers will offer an introductory rate of $660 for the two-day conference. After that, the price goes to $725 for the early bird, then to $825 for regular registration.
“The feedback from last year’s conference was overwhelmingly positive. Participants absolutely want to do the conference again, and are waiting expectantly to book their seat at the table,” said co-founder LeeAnn Petersen.
At the end of the first day of the two day conference, organizers will once again recognize excellence in advocacy in five categories during the Excellence in Advocacy Reception and Awards. Awards will be given for veteran practitioner, up and comer, federal issue campaign, state issue campaign and a campaign for women serving women. Last year the judging, was coordinated by the Bryce Harlow Foundation, and the winners came from the National Association of Manufacturers, ASAE, Patton Boggs, Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, and Arent Fox.
